true love
Okay, I know... I know...
They are only three and half years old and currently Kendyl is a half head taller,
but I think Kendyl has found the man she is going to marry.
I have to say, Harrison and Kendyl are best friends.
They truly love each other.
When they are together, they just are so sweet together.
They play, laugh, hug and snuggle together.
It just melts my heart.
When they are together, I cannot help but just simply smile.
It makes my heart smile.
They miss each other when they are apart.
Kendyl writes cards for Harrison on a daily basis.
She can almost spell H-A-R-R-I-S-O-N
at the age of 3, if that isn't love, I don't know what is!
Harrison's mom (my best friend, how perfect is that!)

thank you for the recipe!
I received a good sugar cookie recipe from a friend. Whenever I have tried making them in the past, mine always seem to get fluffly. I had good luck with this recipe. My kids and Max made cookies this afternoon and made homemade frosting, also from Jenny. The cookies were great, but definitely not beautiful pieces of art like Jenny's cookies. You can see some of her edible talents here. The kids enjoyed making them and especially drizzling them with lots of frosting and SPRINKLES!

the other night
It was so nice the other night. Kaeden has always been my big non fiction reader. Ever since he was a little guy, he would rather us read and now he reads a Children's Dictionary or encyclopedia of some sort than fiction books. Don't get me wrong, we have definitely read our fair share of Berenstain Bears and Arthur books, but the preference has been non fiction. His teachers have told us this too. Recently, Kaeden is beginning to enjoy reading fiction books. He spent over 45 minutes at this sitting to finish Geronimo Stilton.
At the same time, the girls were doing a Highlights Search and Find that we get monthly. It was so nice to have all the kids engaged in a quiet activity. It was a peaceful and I enjoyed watching the kids. This picture isn't the greatest, but it caught the moment!

a new discovery
I am so EXCITED!! Yes, I can be excited easily and today I am!
While browsing through the aisle at Target yesterday, I discovered FUNFETTI COOKIES!
I absolutely love funfetti boxed cake by Pilsbury and now the cookies. I will tell you a little secret. I even enjoy licking the bowl after making the cake batter. Yes, I do eat the batter with the raw eggs, but I just pretend it's frosting because it tastes just like frosting.
AND I try to make the cake without the kids noticing so I can have the spoon and the bowl to myself. mmm...mmmm

I'm buying myself some rainboots
We started off this beautiful morning in the Pacific Northwest with a torrential down pour during Kaeden's 9am soccer game. WOW!! 3/4 of the field was covered with an inch of water or more in certain areas. It was dumping! The kids played hard and were completely muddy and soaked by the end. Right before we left, I decided to grab some extra clothes for Kaeden and he definitely needed it after today's game.
We then had Kenna's game at 11. My feet and jeans were soaked. I didn't have any other shoes. Fortunately, it was only sprinkling and Kenna completely enjoyed her game.
Needless to say, I am purchasing myself some rainboots this week!
